Abstract

Crime is habitual to human nature. From the very beginning of the creation human beings are engaged with crime. The first crime was occurred by the first man of this universe Hazrat Adam (ah) with his companion in heaven. Crime is strictly prohibited in Islam. The part of Islam, which provides the rules and punishment for crime, is called Islamic Criminal Law. The sphere of Islamic Criminal Law is so wide that it covers all-important aspects of human life. Islamic Criminal Law has an effective measure to prevent crime in the society. Effectiveness of Islamic Criminal Law in preventing crime and the application of this law in Bangladesh will be discussed in this paper.
