UNNATURAL OFFENCES: A STUDY OF MEDICO-LEGAL PROBLEMS

Sex offence or sex-delinquency is perhaps the oldest of all crimes in human history. It is not only a hated one but also a man or woman who is guilty of this sort of offence is deemed to be a danger to social peace. But why this kind of offence takes place is a question which can be answered properly if the sex-offender is rightly understood.

Sexual psychology is an important but complicated science and for the study of the occurrence of such an offence it should be remembered that such an offender is a product of many complications. He or she cannot be judged by certain classic principle of law. It is an important subject to sociologists, psychologists, criminologists and lawyers, and if they want to know such a sex-offender they should better enter into the depth of the subject. For better understanding or for statistical purposes the sex crimes may broadly be classified into some major categories such as (a) prostitution, (b) rape, and (c) other sex-offences. Of them, an unnatural sex-offence (which falls in the third category) like rape is a most shocking and alarming one to human conscience and morality.
