Abstract
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), both national and International, are now a days playing a laudable role for the protection and promotion of human rights. NGOs bring up particular cases of alleged human rights violations to the agenda of the UN human rights bodies, primarily the Commission on Human Rights and its sub-commissions. Today NGOs submissions and oral interventions represent an influential source of information on human rights violations. The NGOs use information as their main weapon for the prevention the human rights. A simple proposal to place a specific country on the human rights agenda for violations triggers off fierce diplomatic and political activity. NGOs information is a check on economic human rights violation; and the Commission on Human Rights has been blacklisting countries in which there are serious and widespread violations of human rights acting against the development of those countries in international economic transactions. It is a fact that the violation of human rights has been committed both at home and abroad by the executives and civilians, though respective governments failed to combat effectively both types of violators. But the NGOs have come forward to the legal and financial aid of the victims of violation of human rights to extend all necessary steps for the protection and promotion of human rights.
