Abstract
Virginity is the state of a person, especially a woman or girl, who has not had sexual relations with a member of the opposite sex. In the formation of a matrimonial contract it used to play an important role in olden days. Of course, at the back of every man’s heart, still today, it is there whenever he wants to marry a woman or girl. Is she a virgin? is the question always peeps in his mind. Modernism might have taken him a long way towards liberalism and the old conservative ideas of chastity and virginity might have taken farewell from him, but he is still unconsciously sympathetic towards them; he still longs for the virginity of his would-be wife.
