Abstract

At present in the statehood Police is inevitable and most important
part of criminal justice system. Police always have to fight as front-runner and first fighting force in protecting and promoting the citizen’s rights, property and security. The history of police is as old as the human civilization itself but difficult to trace out its genesis as the history of police is almost blind. In researching and preparing this study it proves that in the evolution police took a prolonged uneven process. But it is clear that evolution process neither is crystallized in a day within a single incident nor under single regime. Police is not built in a day spasmodically to show conjure kaleidoscopic shape. In ancient indigenous values, medieval administrative experiences and the colonial reformations consolidated the shape and explicit organizational structure of modern police organization. In course of police history it is perceived that police is the organization to be continuous incorporated new ideas through reformation. This paper seeks the semiotic factors in the ‘Police Commission-1902/3 that shaped the modern police in Sub-Continent.
