Abstract

The Constitution of Bangladesh is the supreme law of the land in Bangladesh. The founding fathers of our Constitution felt that the inequitable forces in the socio-economic system and political organizations had created an imbalance in society and placed certain people like indigenous in a disadvantageous position. The Constitution of Bangladesh provides to all its citizens social, economic and political justice and equality of status and opportunity. The Constitution of Bangladesh has prescribed measures to remove inequality between “man and man”. It aims at ensuring “equitable distribution of wealth among citizens” and at providing opportunities to attain a uniform level of economic development. It defined state ownership as ownership by the state policy include the emancipation of peasants, workers and backward sections from “all the forms” or exploitation, be it government or private, and the improvement of material and cultural standard of living of the people. It is fundamental principle of the state policy to “adopt measures to conserve the
