Abstract

Contempt of Court, Journalism, Publication and the Right to information are co-related. There exists an interlink among them. The role of Court and Media are barometer of the standard of a nation. To uphold a nations dignity judicial proceedings and freedom of expression must be kept free from all kinds of administrative control. In Bangladesh the higher court specially the Supreme Court of Bangladesh takes the immunity and the newspapers & newsmen take privileges from such kind of control. Freedom of expression is a constitutional fundamental right in Bangladesh. In exercising freedom of thought and expression the media of Bangladesh sometime violates the honor and dignity of the courts of Bangladesh which can be considered as contempt of court. In this article it has tried to specify to what extent the media (both electronics and prints) can exercise their absolute right at the time of reporting on court’s decisions. Besides this, it has also tried to find out the existing laws regarding contempt of court in Bangladesh and to what extent those laws are applicable.

About Us

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this: Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.) read more
